Arnab Goswami started his career as a journalist with the newspaper The Telegraph in 1990. He worked there for only a few months and then shifted his job.

Recently, he faced criticism for using an inappropriate word against congress’s head Sonia Gandhi in connection with the lynching case that took place in Palghar, Maharashtra. On 4 November 2020, he was arrested by Mumbai police in connection with a two old year case in which Arnab was investigated for his involvement in the death of an architect named Anvay Naik. According to the reports, the architect committed suicide in May 2018 with his mother and left a suicide note after him in which he blamed Arnab for his death.


In 2003, he has won the Asian Television Award for Best Presenter. In 2007, he has received the Society Young Achievers Award.

In 2010, he bagged the Assamese of the year Award and in the same year, he has also won the Ramnath Goenka Award for his Excellence in Journalism by the Indian Express Group.
