Laura started her career in the 90s by doing small roles in some movies like Lorenzo’s oil, searching for Bobby Fischer, Dave etc. In1993 she starred in television miniseries called Tales of the city and in 1998 she appeared in it’s sequel called More tales of the city. In 1994 she made an appearance on an episode of television series called Law and Order. Simultaneously, she kept on performing on various shows on Broadway and at other places. This really helped her in polishing her acting skills.
From 1995-1997 she starred in a lot of thriller movies like Congo, Prinal fear and Absolute power. She got her breakthrough role of playing Jum Carrey’s wife in The Truman Show (1998).
